A product-specific format
Custom Thank You Tags for product presentation
Custom Thank You Tags give product teams a dedicated format for the information and presentation requirements of the item being sold. The specification should begin with the product it will be attached to, then account for the information the tag needs to carry.
Use the form to record the final size, card direction, print sides, finishing and attachment for custom thank you tags. This keeps the practical decisions together before artwork is supplied or confirmed.

Where this format fits
Custom Thank You Tags uses
Ecommerce orders
Add a human sign-off to tissue, a mailer or a product box without changing the core packaging.
Handmade products
Leave room for a maker name, batch note or short handwritten message.
Gifts and hampers
Use ribbon or cord to make the message part of the unwrapping rather than another loose insert.
Events and favours
Thank guests on a small keepsake tag while the reverse carries the date or event detail.
Additional information
Build the specification
Custom Thank You Tags specification
- Decide whether it will be written on
- A handwritten name or note needs uncoated stock and an open area that is genuinely large enough for a pen. Lamination and heavy ink coverage work against that use.
- Keep the message specific
- One short sentence feels personal. A paragraph of generic appreciation reads like packaging copy and makes the tag harder to reuse across products.
- Match the attachment to the pack
- Fine cotton suits tissue and small boxes; ribbon suits gifting; elastic works around awkward forms. The attachment is part of the opening experience.
- Separate evergreen and campaign artwork
- Put the reusable brand message on the tag and time-sensitive offers on an insert or QR destination, so unused stock does not expire.
- Print the reverse deliberately
- The back can carry care, social or reorder information, but only if it remains secondary to the thank-you message on the front.
Artwork and file guidance
Prepare the artwork
Plan the finished format before export
Keep essential custom thank you tags copy clear of the trim edge and attachment area. The page-specific artwork guidance explains the considerations for formats, holes, folds and variable product information.
Build the artwork on a brown ground rather than white when proofing on screen, because every ink prints over the kraft base. White has to be laid down as an opaque ink or left as a foil, not assumed from the page.
If custom thank you tags artwork is not final, submit the product and specification details first. This gives the production conversation a clear starting point without forcing a premature file upload.

Custom Thank You Tags FAQs
Which card is best for handwritten thank you tags?
Uncoated, recycled and kraft boards take ordinary pen well. Avoid laminate and heavy solid ink in the area that needs to be written on.
Can the reverse include a discount code?
Yes, but an evergreen QR destination is safer than printing an expiry date on stock that may be used for several months.
What size should a thank you tag be?
Choose from the message backwards. A short printed line can be compact; a handwritten name or note needs enough open space to write without the cord and hole getting in the way.
