Rectangular swing tags: the most practical format
A rectangular swing tag gives the most usable space for its size, with straight edges that make a price, product details and a barcode easy to line up. It is the usual choice for clothing, retail and product tags, and it works in portrait or landscape.
The most common size is 85 × 55mm, the same footprint as a bank card, with 100 × 60mm the usual step up when more information is needed. In the Custom Tag Builder choose the Standard shape and enter your width and height.

A portrait rectangle gives a natural vertical reading order: brand, then price, then the supporting lines beneath.
Barcodes and SKUs
Horizontal width is what a barcode needs, and a rectangle provides it without shrinking anything else on the tag.

Prepare the artwork
Plan the finished format before export
Set the artwork at the finished size in the orientation it will hang, with the hole position marked before anything else is placed. The 85 × 55mm template shows the trim, bleed and safe area.
Use the straight edges to build a clear reading order: brand at the top, then product details, then the price or barcode where it is easy to find.
