Frequently Asked Questions

No. You can order a single tag: one basic tag costs £0.42, one shaped, folded or special-card tag £0.59, and bigger formats up to £0.89. Each product page shows its own price list, all-inclusive with free UK delivery.

Open the product closest to what you need, choose the size, shape, card, print, finish, attachment and quantity in the order panel, and add it to the cart. At checkout you upload your artwork (or choose to email it later) and place the order. Nothing is charged at that point: payment follows the artwork check.

Yes. Every product page lists its prices at 1, 100, 250, 500, 1,000, 2,500 and 5,000 tags, and the cost of each tag falls as the quantity rises. Quantities in between are charged at the rate of the quantity below.

Up to 10,000 tags of one design can be ordered online at a fixed price. For larger runs, use the Custom Tag Builder to request a written quote.

Yes. Add each design to the cart as its own line with its own artwork, and check out once. For many versions of one design, such as different sizes or prices, describe them in the Custom Tag Builder and they are quoted as one job.

No VAT is added. Custom Swing Tags is not VAT registered, so the price in the order panel, cart and checkout is the full amount you pay, with free UK delivery included. That also means charities and VAT-exempt organisations pay the same price with nothing to reclaim.

Nothing is printed until the artwork has been checked and you have paid, so contact us with your order reference as soon as possible and changes can be made before production starts.

Yes. Place the order again with the same options and quote your previous order reference in the notes, so the same artwork files and specification are used.

Standard UK delivery is free for an online order sent to one UK address. Split deliveries, international destinations and special handling are quoted separately.

Tags are produced within 1–3 working days of artwork approval and spend 1–3 working days in transit, so standard orders normally arrive 2–6 working days after artwork approval. The clock starts when your artwork is approved, so sending print-ready files is the quickest route.

Standard online orders follow the timings above. If you need tags by a fixed date, such as a launch or event, enter the date in the Custom Tag Builder or see express swing tags, so the date can be confirmed before you rely on it.

International delivery is quoted separately, because transport, paperwork and import charges vary by country. Request it through the Custom Tag Builder with the destination.

Yes. At checkout, tick the option to deliver to a different address and enter it there.

Free delivery covers one UK address per order. Sending tags to several shops, warehouses or partners is quoted as a split delivery; list each address and quantity in the Custom Tag Builder.

Use your order reference to ask about artwork and production. Any carrier tracking arrangement is confirmed with the delivery method. The shipping information page explains what happens after dispatch.

A print-ready PDF at the finished size, with fonts converted to outlines, CMYK colour and a 3mm bleed on every edge. The order also accepts PDF, AI, EPS, JPG, PNG or ZIP files.

At checkout each file can be up to 20MB. The Custom Tag Builder accepts files up to 5MB; anything larger can be emailed after you order, quoting your reference.

Choose "Email artwork after ordering" in the order panel. You can place the order now and send the files when they are ready; production starts once they are approved.

Every file is checked before printing for size, bleed, hole position and print quality. If anything needs adjusting, we contact you and you approve the corrected proof before the order goes ahead.

Bleed is artwork that runs 3mm past the trim edge, so no white line shows if the cut moves slightly. The safe area is the inner zone where text and logos sit, clear of the cut and the 3mm hole. The bleed and safe-area guide shows both.

RGB is how screens make colour; CMYK is the four inks a printer uses. Bright RGB colours, especially vivid greens, blues and oranges, cannot all be reproduced in ink, so convert artwork to CMYK before sending it and check that the colours still look right.

Close, but not exactly. Screens give off light, while print reflects it, and the card surface changes how ink looks: colours are brightest on gloss and silk and softer on uncoated, kraft and coloured card. For an exact brand colour, specify a Pantone reference.

Yes. Choose "Pantone spot colour" in the order panel and give the Pantone reference in your artwork. It adds a one-off £35.00 ink-matching charge per design.

Photographs and other images should be 300dpi at the size they will print. A web image of 72dpi looks sharp on screen but prints soft and blocky on a small tag.

Keep body text at 6pt or larger, and 7pt or larger for white text on a dark background. On textured, kraft and coloured card go one size up, because the surface softens fine detail.

A thin border right at the edge will look uneven, because every cut moves very slightly. Either keep a border well inside the trim, or run the colour out into the bleed so the edge is solid.

Full-colour printing has no white ink, so white parts of a design show the card. That is fine on white card; on kraft, coloured, metallic or frosted card, mention white elements in your order notes so they are checked before you pay. For a metallic effect, use hot foil in gold, silver, red, blue and green.

Yes. Choose "Artwork set-up help" in the order panel: we prepare your supplied logo and text for print, for a one-off £15.00. You can also start in the free online tag designer.

Yes. The swing tag templates are drawn to size with the 3mm bleed and 3mm hole marked, ready to design on.

Yes. The order panel takes any whole size from 25mm to 150mm on each side, and folded tags up to 200mm measured flat. Bigger sizes cost a little more.

Yes. Choose "Your own outline (custom die)" and supply your outline as a vector cutter line. It includes a one-off £40.00 charge for the cutting die.

The order panel offers coated one side, coated both sides, kraft, holographic and metallic card, from 250gsm to 1200gsm, and each material page covers a speciality card such as recycled, uncoated, textured, waterproof, metallic or neon. Compare the card stocks side by side.

Uncoated, kraft, recycled and textured card take ballpoint, pencil and stamps. Coated, laminated, metallic and synthetic surfaces need a permanent marker.

Natural (unlaminated), gloss or matt lamination, plus embossing, debossing, Spot UV and hot foil in gold, silver, red, blue and green. Foil and embossing add a one-off £45.00 setup each. The finishes guide explains what each one does.

The standard punched hole is 3mm. With a metal eyelet fitted the hole is 5mm. Bottle collars have no hole at all.

Yes: black or white lock string, black or white elastic, rope string, and black, gold, silver and white metal eyelets. Choose them in the order panel and they are fitted for you. Describe any other fixing, such as ribbon or a ball chain, in your notes.

Yes. Use the sample request page and say what the tags are for, so the cards and finishes you receive match the product.

After the artwork check. You place the order and lock in the price online; once the files are confirmed print-ready, we send a secure payment link or bank transfer details.

Visa, Mastercard, American Express and PayPal through a secure payment link, or UK bank transfer (BACS).

Card details are never entered on this website. You pay through the secure payment link we send, so your card is handled by the payment provider.

If we cannot print your artwork to the specification you ordered, you pay nothing, or receive a full refund if you have already paid.

Report faulty, damaged or incorrect tags within 30 days of delivery and we reprint them or refund you in full, with free return postage if a return is needed. Because every order is printed to your specification, change-of-mind returns are not accepted. Your statutory rights are not affected.
