Embedded NFC chip
NFC Swing Tags
An NFC tag carries a chip and antenna inside the board, which turns a printed tag into something that also has to be encoded, tested and managed.
- In stock online. Swing tags are configured and ordered online from one tag; briefs for several designs or very large runs can also be quoted through the Custom Tag Builder.
- Free UK delivery. Standard online orders are delivered free to one UK address.
- Free reprint or refund if faulty. Report faulty, damaged or incorrect tags within 30 days of delivery and we reprint them or refund you in full, with free return postage if a return is needed. Because every order is printed to your specification, change-of-mind returns are not accepted. Your statutory rights are not affected.

A product-specific format
NFC Swing Tags for product presentation
NFC Swing Tags give product teams a dedicated format for the information and presentation requirements of the item being sold. The specification should begin with the product it will be attached to, then account for the information the tag needs to carry.
Use the form to record the final size, card direction, print sides, finishing and attachment for nfc swing tags. This keeps the practical decisions together before artwork is supplied or confirmed.

Additional information
Build the specification
NFC Swing Tags specification
- The inlay dictates the layout
- The chip and antenna occupy a fixed area inside the tag. Nothing can be punched, foiled or embossed over the antenna, so the hole and any finishing have to work around it.
- Encoding is a separate step
- Each chip has to be written with a URL or record and then verified. Decide whether every tag carries the same link or a unique one, because unique encoding is a per-tag operation.
- Metal detunes the chip
- NFC will not read reliably against metal unless a shielded inlay is specified. If the tag sits on metal hardware, say so at the quote stage.
- Chip type is a real decision
- Memory size, lock state and whether the record can be rewritten later all vary by chip. Pick against what the tag has to do in three years, not this month.
- The URL has to outlive the run
- A tag printed today may be scanned for years. Point the chip at a URL you control and can redirect rather than at a campaign page that will be retired.
Artwork and file guidance
Prepare the artwork
Plan the finished format before export
Keep essential nfc swing tags copy clear of the trim edge and attachment area. The page-specific artwork guidance explains the considerations for formats, holes, folds and variable product information.
Keep any handwritten or stamped field outside the laminated area, and identify whether the film covers one or both sides. Confirm the sequence if foil or another finish is also specified.
If nfc swing tags artwork is not final, submit the product and specification details first. This gives the production conversation a clear starting point without forcing a premature file upload.

NFC Swing Tags FAQs
Can every tag have a different link?
Yes, but it is a per-tag encoding operation rather than a printing one, so it is priced separately from the run. Tell us at the quote stage whether the links are unique or shared.
Will it work on a metal product?
Not with a standard inlay. Metal detunes the antenna, so a shielded inlay has to be specified if the tag will sit against metal hardware or a metal surface.
What happens when the campaign ends?
Nothing, if the chip points at a URL you control and can redirect. Encoding a chip with a temporary campaign address is the most common mistake on an NFC run.
