Soft cloud silhouette
Cloud Swing Tags
A cloud outline is built from soft bumps with no straight edges at all, which makes it read as gentle and makes the layout harder.

A product-specific format
Cloud Swing Tags for product presentation
Cloud Swing Tags give product teams a dedicated format for the information and presentation requirements of the item being sold. The specification should begin with the product it will be attached to, then account for the information the tag needs to carry.
Use the form to record the final size, card direction, print sides, finishing and attachment for cloud swing tags. This keeps the practical decisions together before artwork is supplied or confirmed.

Additional information
Build the specification
Cloud Swing Tags specification
- No straight edge to align to
- Every edge curves, so type has no natural baseline to sit against. The layout has to be centred and generous or it looks accidental.
- Bump count and rhythm
- A three-bump cloud and a five-bump cloud are different shapes. Fix the count at the design stage, because it is cut into the die.
- Usable area is small
- The bumps eat into the corners, so the genuinely printable centre is much smaller than the overall outline suggests.
- Soft colours, soft shape
- Cloud tags almost always run on pale or coloured stock. A dark cloud reads as a storm, which is rarely the intention.
Artwork and file guidance
Prepare the artwork
Plan the finished format before export
Treat the bump profile as a finished cut path, not as decoration. Extend background colour beyond every curve and keep type inside a separate safe outline that follows the deepest inward point.
Print the dieline at actual size before export: a small change to one bump can make the whole cloud feel uneven once it is cut, even when the screen preview looks balanced.

Cloud Swing Tags FAQs
How much can I actually print on a cloud tag?
Less than the outline suggests. The bumps cut into every corner, so plan for a centred layout inside a much smaller usable area than the overall size implies.
Does the number of bumps matter?
Yes, and it is fixed in the die. A three-bump cloud is chunky and graphic; a five-bump cloud is softer and finer. Decide before tooling, not after.
What stock suits a cloud tag?
Pale or coloured uncoated board. The shape is soft, and a heavy dark stock fights it — a dark cloud reads as weather rather than as whimsy.
