A product-specific format
Lips Swing Tags for product presentation
Lips Swing Tags give product teams a dedicated format for the information and presentation requirements of the item being sold. The specification should begin with the product it will be attached to, then account for the information the tag needs to carry.
Use the form to record the final size, card direction, print sides, finishing and attachment for lips swing tags. This keeps the practical decisions together before artwork is supplied or confirmed.

Where this format fits
Lips Swing Tags uses
Lipstick and lip care
The obvious fit, where the shape names the product category without any copy at all.
Cosmetics gift sets
A novelty tag on a boxed set reads as playful where a rectangle would read as retail.
Beauty salon retail
Shelf products in a salon benefit from a shape that separates them from clinical packaging.
Valentine and seasonal promotions
Short seasonal runs where the shape is the entire campaign idea.
Additional information
Build the specification
Lips Swing Tags specification
- The corners are the weak point
- A lips outline narrows to a sharp point at each corner. Those points crease and lift first, and they set the minimum board weight for the whole tag.
- Minimum viable size
- Below a certain size the cupid’s bow stops reading and the shape becomes an unidentifiable blob. Check the outline at final size before committing to the die.
- Colour carries the shape
- A lips tag in an off-brand colour reads as a mistake. This is one of the few shapes where the board or ink colour is part of the product definition.
- Hole placement
- There is no neutral place to punch. The hole usually sits at one corner or centrally above the bow, and the choice changes how the tag hangs.
Artwork and file guidance
Prepare the artwork
Plan the finished format before export
Keep essential lips swing tags copy clear of the trim edge and attachment area. The page-specific artwork guidance explains the considerations for formats, holes, folds and variable product information.
Design for the card colour as the lightest available tone, since there is no white to print into. Check that barcodes keep enough contrast against the coloured ground to scan reliably.
If lips swing tags artwork is not final, submit the product and specification details first. This gives the production conversation a clear starting point without forcing a premature file upload.

Lips Swing Tags FAQs
Will the corners tear?
They are the first thing to fail, which is why board weight matters more on this shape than on a rectangle. Specify heavier than you would for a square tag of the same size.
How small can a lips tag go?
Only as small as the cupid’s bow still reads. Print the outline at final size and look at it at arm’s length before signing off the die, because the shape stops being recognisable quite suddenly.
Does the colour have to be red?
No, but the shape carries a strong expectation. Off-brand colours work when the rest of the range supports them and look accidental when they do not.
