Custom Hair Serum Tags

Serum bottles are narrow, oily in handling and often glass, so the tag has to hang from a slim neck without slipping or marking.

Haircare bottle tags

Hair serum tags for slim dropper and pump bottles

Hair serum tags hang from the narrow neck of a dropper or pump bottle, carrying application instructions, key ingredients, tester labels or gift messages. Serum bottles are often glass and oily to handle, so the tag has to sit securely without sliding off or marking.

A coated or laminated surface resists oil better than bare card, and an elastic loop grips a slim neck well. Give the neck diameter in your notes so the loop and hole size can be matched to the bottle.

Tag anatomy

Hair Serum Tags: parts of the tag

Hair Serum Tags start at 50 × 75mm on coated one side card. Each numbered part of the diagram is a choice you can change in the order panel.

Where this format fits

Hair Serum Tags uses

01

Application instructions

How much to use and on wet or dry hair is the question the tag answers at the point of purchase.

02

Active ingredient claims

Oils, percentages and actives justify the price, and the tag carries them where the bottle label runs out of room.

03

Tester and sample identification

Counter testers need marking as testers, and a tag does it without a sticker on the glass.

04

Gift and bundle presentation

A tag turns a single bottle into a giftable item without secondary packaging.

Build the specification

Hair Serum Tags specification

Hanging from a narrow neck
Serum bottles have a slim neck and often a dropper collar, so the hole and cord have to be sized to sit above the shoulder without sliding down over the label.
Oil and product contact
Serum migrates onto whatever is nearest the cap. A coated or laminated face resists that staining where an uncoated board will mark permanently.
Ingredient and usage copy
Application instructions and key actives are the reason the tag exists, and both need more room than the brand name that usually gets designed first.
Claims that have to be exact
Percentages, actives and any regulated wording should be taken from the approved copy rather than re-typed into the artwork.
Glass, weight and balance
A heavy glass bottle with a light tag is fine; a heavy tag on a small bottle tips it. Check the tag weight against the filled bottle before settling the board.
Batch and shelf life
Where a batch or period-after-opening mark is printed on the tag rather than the bottle, confirm it with the quantity so the run is set up as variable.

Material, print and finish

Choose the details around the product

Hair Serum Tags format alone does not determine the finished hang tag. The card, print, finish and attachment should be chosen together with the product context and artwork.

  • Stock: Coated and water-resistant boards suit haircare, because the tag will meet product residue at some point in its life.
  • Lamination: A gloss or soft-touch laminate seals the surface against oil. Soft-touch also gives the tactile cue that the category trades on.
  • Printing: Small ingredient type needs a surface that holds fine detail, which is the main argument for a coated sheet over an uncoated one here.
  • Attachment: Fine cord or a narrow elastic loop suits a slim neck. Anything thick bunches under the dropper collar and sits badly.

Artwork and file guidance

Prepare the artwork

Plan the finished format before export

Keep the design compact and vertical so it hangs neatly against a slim bottle. Ingredients and instructions need a legible size, so move secondary copy to the back.

Leave a clear margin round the hole, as an elastic loop pulls on it each time the bottle is picked up.

Questions and answers

Questions before you order

Hair Serum Tags FAQs

Will serum stain the tag?

On uncoated board, yes, and permanently. A coated face or a laminate seals the surface so residue wipes off rather than soaking in, which is why haircare tags are rarely specified on uncoated stock.

How does a tag hang on a dropper bottle?

From a fine cord or narrow elastic loop sitting above the shoulder of the bottle. Thick twine bunches under the dropper collar and pushes the tag down over the label.

Is soft-touch lamination worth it here?

Often, yes. It seals the surface against product residue and gives the tactile finish the category is judged on, so it does two jobs at once rather than one.

Can the tag carry a batch code?

Yes. If the code changes through the run, supply it with the order as variable data so it is printed in a single production run rather than as separate short jobs.
