A product-specific format
Manila Swing Tags for product presentation
Manila Swing Tags give product teams a dedicated format for the information and presentation requirements of the item being sold. The specification should begin with the product it will be attached to, then account for the information the tag needs to carry.
Use the form to record the final size, card direction, print sides, finishing and attachment for manila swing tags. This keeps the practical decisions together before artwork is supplied or confirmed.

Additional information
Build the specification
Manila Swing Tags specification
- The conventions come with the stock
- A manila tag is expected to have a reinforced eyelet and a cotton string. Specifying manila without them produces something that reads as merely beige.
- It takes pen, pencil and stamp
- This is the stock for anything that gets written on, stamped or filed. It is uncoated by definition, and coating it defeats the purpose.
- Colour varies by batch
- Manila is a natural buff and shifts between mill runs. If two orders six months apart must match exactly, say so before the first run.
- Weight range
- Most manila tags sit between 200 and 300gsm. Heavier manila exists but starts to lose the slightly floppy character that makes the stock recognisable.
- Eyelet or bare hole
- A plain punched hole in manila will tear under load. The metal eyelet is functional as well as traditional.
Artwork and file guidance
Prepare the artwork
Plan the finished format before export
Keep essential manila swing tags copy clear of the trim edge and attachment area. The page-specific artwork guidance explains the considerations for formats, holes, folds and variable product information.
Expect a small amount of dot gain as ink sinks into the sheet, so open up fine reversed-out type slightly and avoid very light tints that can disappear into the surface.
If manila swing tags artwork is not final, submit the product and specification details first. This gives the production conversation a clear starting point without forcing a premature file upload.

Manila Swing Tags FAQs
Is manila the same as kraft?
No. Kraft is a brown unbleached board; manila is a paler buff, softer in hand, and carries a different set of conventions — eyelet, string, and a surface meant to be written on.
Does a manila tag need an eyelet?
If anything pulls on it, yes. A bare punched hole in manila tears under load, which is why the reinforced eyelet became standard on this stock in the first place.
Will the colour match my last order?
Close, but manila is a natural buff that shifts between mill batches. If exact consistency matters across repeat orders, tell us at the first run so the stock can be reserved.
