How the terms are used
“Swing tag”, “hang tag” and “swing ticket” can all describe a printed tag attached to a product. A retailer, designer or garment supplier may prefer one term over another, but the production conversation should focus on the physical requirement: size, card, sides to print, finish, hole position, attachment and the information that must remain legible.
What to include in a clear brief
- Product context: say what the tag will attach to and how it will be handled.
- Information: identify the logo, product name, price, barcode, care copy, offer or other required content.
- Format: choose a standard, folded, shaped or perforated direction where appropriate.
- Artwork: share the finished size and keep critical content away from the intended trim and attachment areas.
Choose the format before the terminology
A standard swing tag is a useful starting point for a familiar rectangular or square layout. Choose folded swing tags when the product needs additional panels, or discuss perforated swing tags where a detachable section is part of the brief.
Next step
Use the guided form on the relevant product page to record the product, format and information requirements. Artwork can be supplied when it is ready.
