Description

Tactile luxury branding

Custom embossed & debossed swing tags

Embossed and debossed swing tags create a memorable tactile impression before your customer even reads the text. By physically pressing artwork into premium heavy card stock, embossing creates raised 3D surface detail, while debossing creates elegant indented impressions.

Perfect for luxury fashion labels, boutique retail, artisanal goods, and high-end cosmetics, embossed tags turn standard product swing tickets into tangible symbols of craftsmanship.

Premium card and finishes

Card stock and finishing combinations

Pair your 3D embossing with complementary laminations and card textures to achieve the ultimate tactile brand experience.

  • Soft-Touch Lamination: Combines a velvety smooth surface texture with crisp raised embossing for maximum contrast.
  • Hot Foil Stamping: Add metallic gold, silver, rose gold, or copper foil directly onto embossed elements.
  • Uncoated & Cotton Stock: Natural textured papers absorb deep debossing without surface tearing.
  • Matt & Gloss Coatings: Protective lamination options that preserve the 3D relief during handling and shipping.

Artwork preparation for embossed tags

When preparing artwork for embossed or debossed swing tags, supply a clean vector PDF or Illustrator file. Include your full-colour artwork on the main design layer, and create a separate vector layer (set to 100% Spot Colour named "Emboss") containing solid black shapes indicating where the die should strike.

Avoid ultra-fine lines (under 0.5pt) or tiny text within embossed areas to ensure a crisp, clean 3D impression without paper cracking.

Frequently asked questions

Embossed swing tag FAQs

What is the difference between embossing and debossing?

Embossing raises the artwork above the card surface creating a 3D effect on top, while debossing presses the design down into the paper creating a recessed impression.

What paper weight is best for embossed swing tags?

We recommend heavy card stocks of 400gsm or higher (such as 500gsm, 700gsm, or duplexed board) to allow for deep impressions without distorting the back of the tag.

What is blind embossing?

Blind embossing means raising the design on the card without adding ink or foil. It relies purely on light and shadow over the paper texture for an elegant, subtle result.

Can I combine embossing with metallic foil?

Yes! Foil embossing applies hot foil and raises the foiled element simultaneously for a dramatic luxury finish.
