Decision context

Balance large format visibility with structural control

A large swing tag creates more display area for product information, storytelling or a bold retail message, but its scale also increases leverage around the hanging point. Compare the proposed dimensions with the product and viewing distance so the tag is noticeable without obstructing use or packaging.

Board stiffness, caliper and grain become more visible at larger sizes. A material that feels firm as a small ticket may curl or flex when enlarged. Lamination, duplexing or a heavier construction can change behaviour, but should be tested with the intended finish rather than selected from GSM alone.

Provide generous hole margin and consider whether an eyelet is appropriate. Check the attachment length and weight on the real product, then place the assembled tag inside its shipping or retail pack. Large corners and projections can scuff, catch or bend when clearance is limited.

Use the extra area to improve hierarchy, not simply to add copy. Print a one-to-one mock-up and review type, images, codes and safe areas. Record final dimensions, material, hole position, reinforcement, finish and attachment as one large-format specification.
