Measure the attachment path
Record the distance around the product, handle or fitting point and the finished drop required for the tag. A cord that looks correct on a loose sample may be too short to tie efficiently or so long that the tag covers other information. Elastic needs enough stretch to fit without remaining under excessive tension.
Match the hole and reinforcement
Wide ribbon can bunch in a small hole, while fine cord may move freely through a larger opening. Eyelets alter the hole diameter and edge surface. Test the complete combination for tearing, rotation and abrasion. A decorative metal eyelet is not automatically necessary when the board and handling requirement do not need it.
Include assembly in the buying decision
Ask whether attachments arrive loose, pre-cut, looped, knotted or already fitted. Manual application time can outweigh a small material difference when many products must be tagged. Trial the exact attachment on a normal packing shift and record its length, colour, material and supply method for repeat orders.
